Hillsdale V *Spoken Art San Mateo Contest*
I wrote this ekphrasis poem for a contest (it was selected for the reading *smiles joyfully*).
Bird's Eye View
I have looked above
at the world made of man
Earth's fallen kingdom
The bright un-earthly
colors of man scar my eyes
shadows of nature
From the sky, faces
are not seen. Actions define
who you are forever
I see animals
clad in strange rainbows
casting shadows
One yet separate
different and similar
casting shadows on gray concrete
Their color contrasts
black shadows
living unaware
